origins:  ohio / 81 / earth / re-imagine / re-claim / studio greenhouse / anchor yard / open / listening

when i create an object or alter an ecology in three dimensional space, i am admitting that language is failing—the ink pen dried to ashy black, the sturdy type letters- brittle fences / i am looking to feel connected to my body; i am looking for my breath and my hands in the material; i am looking for the landscape in the material; i am seeking out an exchange (political, personal, ecological & aesthetic).  i begin my study & practice of visual arts as a poet / i have always been a gatherer, a recycler of image, object & language.  my poems reuse their materials— the same cut hair or linseed oil appearing again and again as a condition, a way for a reader (and for me) to travel through the poems—a way to remind myself of the impossibility (politically and personally) of ever really arriving
